My Journey To Tech

Back in January 2020, I made the deliberate decision to resign from my role as a Design Engineer. At that juncture, I found myself without a new professional path to embark upon, accompanied by a sense of uncertainty regarding my next steps. During that period, my focus shifted towards preparing for a potential career opportunity in Korea. This involved an intense commitment to studying the Korean Language, alongside concentrated efforts aimed at securing a suitable job in the country.

Returning to my hometown in the province, my dedication to linguistic studies grew more pronounced. However, as fate would have it, the outbreak of the pandemic resulted in a nationwide lockdown, dramatically altering the trajectory of my plans. It was during this time that the prospect of relocating to Korea appeared to fade, leaving me with my trusty laptop – a relic from my prior employment – as my most valuable asset. Armed with internet connectivity, I recognized the potential to pivot towards an online career.

With a resolute mindset, I explored the avenue of call center employment. Fortunately, I managed to secure a trial position with a company after a brief period of searching. The trial phase spanned a week, and although I poured my utmost effort into it, I was not selected for a permanent role due to my challenges with spoken English proficiency. Acknowledging this as an area requiring improvement, I committed to honing my language skills.

This juncture marked the commencement of my journey into the world of WordPress. My exploration of online resources revealed the possibility of creating websites sans coding expertise. Intrigued by this prospect, I delved into YouTube tutorials to expand my understanding. Subsequently, I undertook the ambitious endeavor of constructing a website using this newfound knowledge. In due course, my efforts bore fruit as I was recruited as a WordPress assistant.

Guided by a seasoned senior WordPress developer, I embarked on a journey of professional growth and skill enhancement. Augmented by diligent study and dedicated coursework on platforms like Udemy, I began to delve into the intricate realm of coding languages central to WordPress, including PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and MySQL, along with jQuery. As time progressed, my expertise deepened, culminating in a cumulative experience of over two years. This tenure has afforded me a comprehensive grasp of my current tech stack.

As the demand for these skills continues to surge, I remain committed to perpetual growth and refinement in pursuit of excellence within my chosen field.
